Help me give my students access to basic art supplies to start building our art closet! By having markers, crayons and colored pencils they will be able to work on basic drawing projects!
As a teacher in a low income and high poverty school, my students are faced with many struggles inside and outside of the classroom. Despite the challenges they might face, they don't give up.
They are dreamers, thinkers, learners, and go-getters.
Their determination to succeed is what keeps myself as their teacher going every day. I know that I can't change their struggles outside of school, but I pride myself in helping them overcome them in the classroom. I strive to make sure at the end of the day they have all of their tools in their tool belts to be successful in life.
My Project
In the district I teach in, we do not have an art supply budget. Funding this project, would allow my students to complete basic art projects with using colored pencils, crayons and markers. With these supplies, my students will be able to create drawing masterpieces. I plan to use the coloring utensils throughout the school year to develop their drawing skills as well.
Art is a subject that has been disappearing in schools and I think that is a tragedy.
As a teacher, I believe that art is a subject that should be taught on a daily basis. Students need to have exposure to more subjects than just their basic math and reading. Having the opportunity to do art allows them to use different creative outlets that other subjects do not allow.
Students deserve the opportunity to get messy, work with hands on materials and know that art is fun!
