My Students

I teach in a school that is very diverse with many different languages spoken at home. Students come to my classroom and want to learn new things every day. They want to be able to connect with each other through lessons that we are learning.

I want to build a community in the room where every voice is heard and students can reflect and relate to what we are learning in class to their lives.

My students enjoy helping each other and being a teacher to all, which not only supports their own learning but the learning of others as well.

My Project

With all the requirements that are asked for our elementary students, art can be a subject that is forgotten about. Unfortunately, when art is not being taught, students are missing out on crucial activities that teach them a variety of skills that are necessary for all to be successful. With these art supplies, I will be able to integrate art into our math, reading, science, and social studies lessons by adding a creative piece to that weekly learning. With these supplies, students will be able to make groups for math to help with division and fractions. Students will be able to form science experiments with what we have and will be able to learn different topics while staying aligned with what the topics we are focused on. Art is such an important subject and having supplies can be in short demand at times. With this project, I will be able to include art weekly with our learning and this will give students an opportunity to get creative with our weekly lessons!
