My Students
My students come from a low-income area and low socioeconomic backgrounds. One hundred percent qualify for free breakfast and lunch. We lack many everyday school supplies, and many of the parents cannot afford to buy their children pencils, folders, and other essential supplies for school.
Many of my students come from low-income households.
Eighty-five percent of the students are English Language Learners, so many do not receive much help at home due to language. The teachers at our school are mentors to the children. We want all our students to succeed. The school provides a caring and warm environment to learn.
My Project
With these materials, students will be able to express their thoughts onto paper. We can display their beautiful artwork around the classroom and the school campus. Art is expression and creativity. This is why I requested crayons, glue, construction paper, and color paper. I want my students to be able to show off their creative side. Art is a way to express thoughts. I remember when I was in school I loved to do artwork. We do not have any art supplies at all. With these materials, students will be able to express their thoughts onto paper. We can display their beautiful artwork around the classroom and the school campus. Art is a way to express thoughts. It would make the classroom more lively with artwork hanging up by the students. The caddy will hold their art supplies all organized and safe. These supplies will help the students express themselves and show off their creativity.
