Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are from all different walks of life. We serve low income as well as high achieving students. Our school is situated in one of the most diverse locations in San Diego with one of the most diverse populations and this is something that I hope to explore through art and our community.
Our students overcome obstacles everyday working with each other and the different backgrounds of our school.
They overcome the obstacles with grace, warmth, and community connections.
My Project
My students and I are in need of more art supplies. We have been using what we have but art supplies get used up. We need more art supplies like markers, colored pencils, and glue.
We enjoy exploring the typical art materials in new and unique ways.
These art supplies will allow the students to continue expressing themselves as well as exploring how they can create unique art and explore materials!
Through exploration with these materials, the students will learn about themselves as well as how they can use art as a voice to share their thoughts and feeling!
