First graders love to make art! We cut, glue, and color all the time. We rarely paint though, because we don't have enough paint brushes or space to put the paintings while they dry. I am hoping you'll help me solve this problem.
All of my students are first graders.
There are twenty-nine students in my classroom right now. They range in age from six to eight years old. First graders are eager to learn, explore, and be creative. They are excited to go to school and they love to learn new things.
My Project
My students love to be creative and make art. I love to tie art projects into the material we are working on in class. We cut, glue, draw, and color all the time. We rarely paint though. I know my students would love to paint, but we have two challenges that make painting difficult. 1. There are twenty-nine students, so there's no room to store their artwork to dry. Without a drying rack, it requires too much space. The kids need their desks to write on, so that is not a convenient option. My school gives us paint, but not the paint brushes.
I would love to allow my first graders opportunities to paint in the classroom.
Little kids love to be creative and learn how to make art. I love to teach art and support the learning of various subjects through art. We always cut, glue, draw, and color. If you help support our class by getting a drying rack and paint brushes, we can start painting on a regular basis. With these supplies, my class will be set this year and so will my other classes in the years to come.
