My students are a diverse and fun-loving group of children in grades kindergarten through six. As an elementary specialist teacher, I teach a total of over 800 students between two schools, all with varied backgrounds, needs, and abilities. About half of my students are from low income families that have limited resources. I teach on the topics of health and social and emotional learning which means helping students develop a range of skills they need for school and life.
My students love it when books, stories, games, and hands-on activities are incorporated into our lessons.
They enjoy learning about making healthful choices for themselves and their community!
My Project
These materials will help my students write, draw and share what they are learning on a variety of topics. The markers and gel pens will help my older students work on recreating systems of the body on paper, while the crayons and glue sticks will help my younger students cut and paste art projects based on our health and science lessons. The two pocket folders will be used by my upper-elementary students to create portfolios of the projects created this year to share with their families. The Dixon Laddie Tri-Write pencils are an amazing pencil for using with a large number of students because they are extra long-lasting and large enough for small hands while being comfortable for all ages. Together, these fresh art supplies will freshen up our creative juices and enhance our learning.
