My children live for Art activities and we often find a way to incorporate it into each subject, whether it be reading, writing, social studies and even math!
I teach a gifted and talented second grade class.
Our school is extremely diverse in its community. Our student population's needs range from ELL learners to the gifted and talented. Some students live with limited means and resources. Before school I also teach extra math and language arts classes for 1st graders who need a little bit more practice with certain skills. If that weren't enough, I also teach after school classes for second graders that need more practice with math. Our student population is high need and very diverse. Now imagine the amount of children that are in and out of my classroom at various points of the day. They really can deplete a stash of art supplies! I do a lot of puppetry work and enrichment activities with my children and we need the necessary tools to complete our tasks. I often use the visual arts to enhance our literacy, math and social studies curriculum.
My Project
My students need new markers, crayons and watercolor paint sets. Parents and family members love to see art projects that children make at school! Plus the skills required to complete the projects are endless. They help promote fine motor skills, social skills and of course, creativity!! Towards the end of the school year, we often create an art gallery and auction off student's work to raise money for our school.
Your donation will make it possible for us to create beautiful artwork and raise money for the school as well!
Your help with this project will ensure that my children have the necessary arts and crafts materials to create fabulous projects in school. Thanks for taking a moment to look over our proposal!
