Art Supplies Needed To Express Our Love For Reading!
My students need an array of art supplies to express their love for reading. We need canvas paper, a Soft-Kut Classroom Block Printing Starter Kit, Buff II Moist Clay, Mixed Media Pad and other art supplies.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Fifth graders are not afraid of taking chances or trying new things.
"We are a family" is our classroom number one rule and we live by it every day.
My students quickly learn that I am a little loony and that I like to sing, dance, and climb tables and chairs. During the school year, my students are exposed to large doses of craziness and creativity to encourage their abstract thinking. I believe that standardized tests can sometimes weaken children's ability to transcend traditional ideas and common school practices. I also believe that students learn more by practicing concepts in many ways such as team activities, games, and using technology to adapt and incorporate life connections and effective ways of learning.
My Project
Our District holds an annual District Art show and many of the best pieces get chosen to be displayed on the building's walls all year long. This school year we have committed to integrate art and all of its genres into our literacy lessons developed using our wonderful books of the month. We need a canvas paper to create masterpieces. We need clay for sculptures to enter this type of media for the first time. Every month our school chooses a book of the month and I encourage my students to create art pieces based on the book or we have a class activity using art as an extension of the reading activities. Having materials such as glue and/or a glue gun, different cutting tools and paper can make this process much faster and more presentable.
