Help me give my students great materials so they can grow as artists. These materials are specifically for my intermediate and advanced students who do not have access to good art supplies.
Diversity is the name of the game at my school. Iraqi refuges, immigrants from Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Egypt, Mexican students from across the border, suburban American kids--all belong here. Some kids are driven to go to college, others are waiting to graduate and get a job. Diversity at its finest!
Our school prides itself in our excellence in academics and the arts, and we have consistently held high standards for our students in all fields.
Yet each year our class sizes get larger, our budgets shrink and our students show up with more needs than we are able to handle. As an art department, we believe that our projects are vital to student success in school and in life because they put into practice the skills they have learned in their classes.
My Project
Now more than ever students need to create art! While my school is providing basic drawing materials for all art students, intermediate and advanced kids need to use better materials to flex their skills and improve as artists.
These materials will help me challenge second, third year, and AP studio students while we are learning from home.
Not all students have equal access to the materials necessary to succeed while taking online courses. These supplies will allow students to move beyond pencil and pen, and explore other mediums in their artistic journey.
