Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a diverse International Baccalaureate school. We have students from all nationalities and various abilities. Every day, my students encounter someone who is different from them, whether it is a different language, race, or learning style.

This year is completely different.

We are all sitting in front of the computer and trying to navigate so many different learning platforms such as Zoom, Schoology, i-Ready, and Inspire Science. My students are doing amazing being resilient and adapting to change but could use additional materials.

My Project

My students have not entered a classroom since March 13, 2020. They have been learning from home and have adapted to the sudden change. Our daily schedule looks different but the students are also doing gym, art, and music from home.

With remote learning, my students do not have a normal art class.

All my students really enjoy art and I would like to incorporate more art into our lessons. My students have crayons and markers to use but need paper and sharpeners. The paper will give them something to create their art on and the sharpeners will allow them to have a sharp pencil and colored pencils.
