Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our bilingual first graders are creative and energetic young artists in need of art supplies to express their creativity. Our 92 first graders are part of a TK-6 Spanish/English Two-Way Dual Immersion Program at our school. Throughout the day, our students engage in creative, hands-on activities, some of these activities being art projects. Art does not only support the development of fine motor skills and creativity; art also fosters our students' learning by allowing us to present difficult concepts visually.
My Project
Our students will create art projects throughout the year in our four first grade classrooms. The drying racks are going to be a great tool for us to store and dry our projects. We are currently using any empty available flat surface (including the floor) to lay out our paintings. These drying racks will help us keep our students' projects orderly and safe from getting stepped on or otherwise damaged.
Regular art integration is very important for our young learners; we use art as a medium of expression and a learning tool.
Our young artists will benefit from having this art organization rack to store and dry their masterpieces.
