My students need a whiteboard in our room so I can demonstrate how to complete their drawings and projects! They also need art supplies including paint brushes, paint caddies and a drying rack.
My students are inquisitive, creative kids who need your help! I teach Kindergarten through Eighth grade Art. The students at my school are from very diverse backgrounds, which has helped them to become especially great at thinking for themselves, asking questions, solving problems, and genuinely become lifelong learners. I am excited to help propel their creativity and expression through Art. I find that there are many times they come up with ways to do things that I haven't even thought of yet! This makes my job very exciting, and I want to give back and help teach the students as much as they teach me.
My Project
Our students need a place to store their art, so they can access it every week during class. They also need drying racks, supply caddies for their tables, and trays to work on to keep their supplies within reach. I have many students with Special Needs, and ordinary scissors or paintbrushes just do not work for them, which is why more accessible materials are necessary. If we can get organized together, classes will run more smoothly, which means more time for Art!
If we have a whiteboard I can demonstrate how to draw particular images, write objectives for the day, and make notes, students will be more clear about their goals and much more capable of meeting them.
It is difficult having an Art room with a Smartboard that I am unable to write on. Having a more hands on approach will be helpful in showing students the exact expectations.
