My students need air dry clay, oil pastels, and tissue paper in kindergarten to create artwork in the classroom. It is important for students to have access to art.
Many students in the kindergarten class have not be able to work with clay. Do you remember how fun it was to be in kindergarten and exploring the world around you? These supplies will open their eyes to different art mediums. These supplies are waiting to be used by small hands.
GREEN Charter School is unique because we are a GREEN school that recycles, has multiple skylights, and has two green houses next to our school.
Our students share the same view point on being green. Our students are very diverse, but come together when it comes to achieving their academic goals. Our kindergartners are excited to learning everything possible when they step foot into the classroom. They are all wanting to know more about the world around them.
My Project
The kindergartners in my classroom love to work with their hands every chance they get. Art supplies would help make the art lessons during related arts time come alive. Giving students the opportunity to try new art materials would mean a lot to them. Many students don't have access to art supplies at home so school is the only chance where they can explore different art mediums.
My project of bringing art supplies into the kindergarten classroom will make a difference because they will get to experience different materials that they can use their hands with.
It will also help with their hand and eye coordination and fine motor skills.
