Ms. McKenzie from Nashville TN is requesting art supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students art materials to complete engaging projects and practice fine motor skills. This includes trays, paint sets, Play-Doh, and other items.

My students are kind, thoughtful and energetic learners. They enter the classroom as curious learners seeking to soak in the world around them. For many of my students, kindergarten is their first experience in a school community. I want to provide them with quality learning opportunities each day so they are excited to come to school.
My students depend on me to teach them how to read, write, and develop problem-solving skills that will be the foundation of their education.
These students come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Their families qualify for free lunch and may not have the means to provide literature, manipulatives, and other educational tools at home.
These materials will be used throughout our learning day to create meaningful projects and engaging crafts. In our curriculum, we bolster literacy by equipping students with rich knowledge of a variety of subjects. This knowledge will help students as they read the text and expand their vocabulary. At the end of different units of studies, we complete a culminating project to showcase their learning. These supplies would help provide students with choices to showcase their learning through creative means.
Using these hands-on learning materials will engage students and foster a rich learning environment.
Many students have also struggled with their fine motor skills as a result of learning loss during the Covid-19 pandemic. These materials will help students grow their fine motor skills and support them as they begin learning to write.
