Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with an amazing group of first graders. The district I teach in is a Title One school district that serves a large population of low income, migrant students where one hundred percent of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and hardships but no matter their situation, they come to school ready to learn with a smile on their face. I am truly blessed to work with the kindest, resilient and hardworking students. They never cease to amaze me.
My Project
Art integration enriches and personalizes learning for all students! The goal of this project is to provide art supplies for my students to increase their learning and creativity. These art supplies will be used by my students when they work in groups on projects and other activities. Furthermore, these art supplies will motivate my students to be creative while learning.
The watercolors, paints, and other craft supplies will provide an outlet for my students to express themselves creatively, learn from each other, and review important concepts.
By integrating and supplementing learning the traditional subjects with creative visual representations, the student's learning experience moves beyond textbooks and pencils.
