Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This upcoming school year will be my 17th year in the classroom! I am doing my best to provide my students with a fun and fulfilling school year. We are part of a Title I school with very little funding but with a big heart!
I am teaching an ICT class of 25 fourth graders that love reading, writing, and math!
They are a mixture of special needs students and general education students. We are a title 1 school where most students receive free lunches. For many of them English is not their first language. Hands-on exploring is what allows us to really understand new concepts.
My Project
We are currently working on animal habitats. Each student picked a different animal to study! We are learning about animal adaptations, what they need to survive in their habitat, and what temperature the animals need.
We are in the research phase and are soon going to make our habitats come to life.
We have acrylic paint, shoe boxes and wonderful imaginations! We now need the art supplies. Having paint brushes, mini animal figurines, trees, and other requested supplies will help them replicate their animal habitats. I can't wait to see their creativity come to life!
