Help me give my students ceramic glaze for their clay projects, tempera paint to encourage their ongoing creativity, drawing pencils to help develop their skills!
My students are highly motivated and very creative. They love working with all sorts of materials in the art room, such as clay, painting, iPads for animation, sewing and of course drawing!
Some projects that have been stand-outs this year are: a ceramic planter in the shape of a hippo that will actually house a succulent, collaborative stop motion animations with puppets acting out a hilarious version of "America’s Got Talent," a series of relief prints of dogs and cats, I could go on and on.
My Project
Working with clay is therapeutic and very meaningful to kids of all ages, but perhaps especially to adolescents who spend so much time on a screen and in testing subjects. Working with their hands engages a part of their brain they desperately need to use and creating clay sculptures and functional ceramic pieces requires lots of critical thinking skills.
We are requesting ceramic glaze which is very expensive but necessary to finish clay pieces in the most aesthetically pleasing way.
By funding the purchase of ceramic glaze, my students will be able to bring their creations to life, making art pieces that will last a lifetime. By funding the purchase of tempera paint, students will be able to create so many paintings and other painted creations like sculptures.
