My students need more art supplies including puppet kits, wiggly eyes, collage materials, glue, glitter, and more. Art is an expression like no other in the midst of all the testing and pressure on children academically.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
What do you remember about 3rd grade? It wasn't math sheets, homework or reading. Kids always remember the art projects they had and the fun it was making them. I want to give my students memories that they will never forget.
My students are from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
They are enthusiastic learners but they do get bored with the dryness of just reading, writing and math assignments. Their faces light up when art is brought into the curriculum. It's a joy to see that light in them as they thrive on creating their own visions artistically.
My Project
Students will be given arts and crafts that are not normally available to them. They will be receiving their own supply boxes that they will decorate. There will also be pots for planting that each student will receive to decorate as their own unique expression. In this order request are all the jewels, stickers, glitter glue to make their projects special. They are so excited when they can take something home to show their parents that isn't about test scores and memorizing. It's important to balance the curriculum with activities that are also meaningful to them and fun.
Without your help there would be no opportunity for my students to have fun while they're learning with art that speaks for them.
Art speaks to us on a different level, using a different side of their thinking which is similar to music.
