My students need an easel, craft tape, paints, and items for collage pieces to practice skills such as self control, focus, critical thinking, and problem solving.
Little Picassos are busy working every day in our art center. Some children even spend their entire free choice time creating art. "Why?" you might ask. Well, some of these children may not own a box of crayons or markers at home. Art allows a child to express themselves and feel a sense of accomplishment.
This preschool program allows three, four, and five year old children to bridge the gap between preschool and kindergarten.
We provide a safe and nurturing program that allows children to independently gain skills such as focus, self control, perspective taking, communication, problem solving, critical thinking, making connections, social emotional, mathematical, language, fine and gross motor skills, and more! The program is in a Title One school district with a 90% free and reduced lunch population.
My Project
Every day the children have the opportunity to go to the art center during their free choice play. I would like to have a variety of materials for the children to explore such as collage materials, paints, and even an easel. Through art, children can expressively gain so many skills. You would not believe the amazing creations they have come up with. These materials will give these children an opportunity to creatively learn and grow.
As you can imagine, it is expensive to be a preschool teacher.
We want our children to explore materials freely but we do A LOT of exploring, and we are running out of materials. Help us continue our creative journey.
