Help me give my students items using art supplies with various subject projects such as: filament, paper towels, and gloves for our text-feature surgery day.
I'm fortunate to be part of a school that strives for excellence. We meet students' needs with rigorous teaching strategies, and we expect only the best from our students.
My school is proud to be a Leader in Me school that works on taking the 7 Habits of author Steven Covey, making them age-appropriate, and working them into our school campus so that students begin to see their campus as a way to show leadership.
Leader in Me is not a curriculum, but rather a way of doing life on the school campus through awareness of how we learn and grow, and how we speak and treat one another.
Students learn the habit of solving conflicts, and then they become conflict managers. This is just one way the Leader in Me program looks on our campus. Students take the 7 Habits that are taught to them and begin to think of ways they can take ownership of their campus through leadership. Whether it's a 5th grader helping a 1st grader to read, students setting goals and overcoming academic obstacles, or students seeing a need to clean their campus, these are all ways that the 7 Habits teach students to lead.
My Project
I am requesting various art items that will be used for various subjects with projects. The filament is to be used with our 3D printer. We use this 3D printer to design items to go with our curriculum, like a telegram to learn the first invention of the phone or the famous landmark of the Washington Monument. These are examples of things we have 3D printed. I am also requesting paper towels, kids gloves and face masks, that are used by students for our text feature surgery day. Students dress up as surgeons and "dissect" a non-fictional science article looking for text features. It is a great day had by all.
