This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are in a Title 1 school. They are of various levels of art students from beginner to advanced AP and IB classes. Our school is on the upward trend in many areas including test scores, extra-curricular activity, and parent involvement.
There are wonderful opportunities for student buy-in and participation from the 67 extra-curriculars to many activities, festivals, and parades happening almost every weekend.
Every day there is SOMETHING exciting going on stemming from the school's involvement in the local community and an overwhelming engaged student body. We are making huge strides in academic achievement and providing more opportunities than ever. I believe our school will soon be a competitor and leader among the top public schools in Atlanta.
My Project
Out visual arts department has a set of 15 ipad2. Both of the art teachers here have a donor's choose up for more ipads so that we can make a class set. If we can have enough for a class set, we will be able to more seamlessly involve the ipad technology in our class room, rather than have it as supplemental, we will be able to have entire lessons and units utlitizing the ipads!
By incorporating technology in the visual arts class, we will ensure that students of the digital age are well equipped with experience in this ever growing creative industry.
By donating to this project, you will help us maintain a relevant and engaging curriculum in the visual arts. The projects could range from photo manipulation to commpletely digital rendered drawings, even animation is possible through programs on the ipads.
