At our school, we have around 200 students in grades K-5, with 70% qualifying for free or reduced lunches. We have a diverse group of students with a variety of learning styles, abilities, needs, and socio-economic backgrounds.
We are always looking for ways to get students to be engaged and creative!
Unfortunately, with state-wide budget cuts, our supplies are limited, which also limits their creativity, and exposure to new mediums.

Besides helping with fine motor skills, what students learn in art spill over into other subjects. Patterns and colors help in math. Cross Categorical help with deeper thinking is social studies. STEAM projects combine science and art. So art is a WIN for everyone!
My Project
I teach in a rural school, with 200 students in grades K-5. Over 70% of my students are low income, because of this students seldom have the opportunity to explore and use art supplies at home. So when they are at school I want them to have a vast amount of supplies available! With budget cuts this is getting harder and harder to do. The budget only allows for glue, markers, and other basic supplies. With your help I can expose my students to all kinds of mediums. We are going to be making vinyl positive sayings around the school to make students smile! The students will be able to create their own mosaic designs. Explore water color techniques. This project also provides a way to combine reading in art, with some great books directed towards art!
