Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at Alvarado are incredibly hard-working and creative. They are trustworthy and respectful which is why I have chosen to make my art room an open choice studio. They come from diverse backgrounds and are of all learning abilities.
Alvarado students have the drive and creativity to make our community a more colorful, caring and fun place to live.
They deserve access to all materials and to as many visual resources as possible.
These resources will help them understand the art world and their own worlds more thoughtfully. They will build a stronger vocabulary and better bank of visual imagery.
My Project
This carpet will make a more quality learning environment and have direct impact on the content area of study. It will benefit myself as a great teaching tool, and it will look aesthetically pleasing in an art room!
Students will have a greater opportunity to share and critique their artwork, and conduct more meaningful discussions about the impact of art in our world.
Currently we do not have a great space for reading and sharing and could use a revamp!
The colors and shapes will directly relate to classroom jobs as well as classroom lessons The students will feel the impact right away. As of right now the old carpet is being torn out and will be an all tile floor, so some comfy floor space would make all the difference!
