My Students

How do you describe the best students on the planet?! I get to teach art to 700+ students at my school. They come from all walks of life, some come from low socio-economic families, others are military kids, some have special needs, while others are middle class children, but every one of them is amazing!

They love art!

Painting, drawing, creating, they love it all. And their excitement for art makes my job so amazing! I can't wait to come to work each day to see what they will make.

My Project

My students start each class sitting on the floor for whole group instruction. A rug makes this much more comfortable for them. I find that bright colors can be very engaging and inviting for the majority of students. I would like a nice-quality, rainbow rug that is large enough for each class to sit on comfortably.

When students are able to sit comfortably, they are better able to focus and attend to the lesson being taught.

This particular rug is a semi-circle that has 24 circles on it to indicate where students should sit, which will help those wiggly bottoms to know exactly where to go!

The bright colors, and practical arrangement make this rug a perfect centerpiece for my whole group learning area.
