My Students

"Every child is born and Artist. The problem is how to remain one once one grows up." -Picasso. In our world today there is a great deal of focus put on technology. Introducing iPads into the art room will capture students attention and provide students with authentic digital art opportunities.

This is my first year to work at Mayflower High School, and I must say I work with some amazing kids.

They soak up every opportunity presented to them, and are thirsty for more. We are a small high school out in the country and we do our best but sometimes the funding isn't always there. I want to help these kids receive every opportunity I can. They deserve it.

My Project

My art III and IV students are required to keep a digital portfolio and having access to an iPad will provide them with an opportunity for digital editing and photo manipulation. Students will use the iPad for visual references with the ability to zoom in to see the fine details. There are a variety of educational apps which will be used in class such a Quizlet, Elevate, TED, etc.

Receiving this donation will mean the word to these kids.

They feel our school is often overlooked by some of the larger school in the surrounding districts. It would boost moral and build confidence. It will give students an opportunity to use technology in a way they have not been able to in the past.
