My Project

These art room items are chosen as the basic needs for any introduction to art course. These items are not luxury extra asks, but basic needs for us to function as a school with limited funding. We will use these items to focus on painting, drawing, and sculpture making. I use art as a way to empower students, give them a voice, build their confidence, and learning healthy ways of coping.

I work at an alternative high school where students are referred to recover credits, work on improving behavior, or to meet other specific needs.

The class sizes are small and provide more individualized attention. My art room focuses on art as a healthy coping mechanism, means of social/emotional learning, an opportunity for students to use their voice, engage in social justice, and practice discipline based art.
