Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I’m Ms. Ross and I am an elementary art educator. Myself and a fellow art teacher, Mrs Rich, are opening an art store to help motivate our fifth through eighth grade classes in order to promote positive behavior. Most of our students come from low income and diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Our students will be able to purchase treats, prizes and art supplies with their “Ross and Rich Bucks”, in addition to class wide and school wide incentives. Students can earn “Ross and Rich Bucks” by being respectful, responsible and engaged in our art classes. Our students work so hard and deserve a little extra reward for their efforts!
My Project
The Art Rewards Store will help to motivate and reward students for making positive choices.
The store will supply aspiring artists with the necessary materials to create their own art at home.
Our school is Title I, and most kids are on free and reduced-priced lunches, so small snacks, treats and art supplies will be a great motivator to earn Ross and Rich Bucks so they could earn these rewards. Being able to earn something extra, especially art supplies, will encourage them to take their talents further. Our students are in need of excellent quality materials, such as watercolors from Reeves brand, drawing pencils and oil based paint markers from US art supply. Students will become more productive and creative in the art room as well as at home with these new supplies. Please help us encourage the students to take their artwork the next level!
