What a wonderful group of students I have this year. We live in a very low economic area with numerous students (many from Katrina). I am so excited about school this year.
I work with fifth grade and I teach special education. However, my students are all mainstreamed for part of the day and this allows me to be involved with the entire fifth grade! I teach language arts and math. I assist many of my with social studies and science.
I am writing this proposal for art supplies for our fifth grade students. We simply do not have funds for art materials. Some of our parents have donated glue and colors but I want my students to be exposed to drawing and to doing an assortment of art activities. Some of the materials I have requested are consumable but some will be used year after year.
We read some wonderful stories and my students will use the art supplies to change the stories from words to pictures. We will use the materials to write our own picture stories. I also want my students to create art projects on their own instead of doing coloring sheets. This would mean so much to them!
I want to thank you in advance for your assistance. While I want my students to learn all the curriculum, these materials will assist in learning and will also create lasting school memories.
