My Students

Have you ever had a feeling that you truly belong? That is the feeling I want all of my students to become overwhelmed with while they are with me. I see every student, in every grade, in a one week rotation. My passion for teaching and love for my students allows this sensation to take place.

My students are hungry for knowledge, food, supplies, and love.

We serve over 500+ students in the highest poverty section of North Carolina where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. We are a Title I school. I try to supply as much as I can for my students. Please Help!

My Project

My students will use tag board to create literacy portfolios. Students will store their cultural masterpieces, based on literature that we read and study together, in the portfolios in an organized way; very similar to a data notebook. Students will immerse themselves into their projects, transport to an imaginary place, and become the best artists they can be. Students will use all learning styles to increase their art skills while storing their masterpieces in an art + literacy = portfolio.
