My Students

I teach Visual Arts at Title I schools in the Sacramento Area. I service PK through second-grade students at two elementary schools. I have 40 minute weekly sessions in more than 30 classrooms with more than 600 students. I know all their names.

My students are very excited about our VAPA program.

They look forward to their art day when they get the opportunity to create, present, connect, and respond through the medium of visual arts. It is a joy to work with such fantastic kiddos.

My Project

My students love getting their very own art journal to take home. We use the journal to catalog the elements of art, write down ideas for art projects, and sketch. Many of my students use their art journal at home to continue their creative expression and, later, bring it back to school to show what they have made.

These art journals will be extensively used and are a bargain at less than a dollar per student.

This project will impact hundreds of 1st and 2nd grade budding artists. The impact relative to the cost of this project is phenomenal. Your donation will make a difference.
