This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My class is full of 4 years olds with lots of personality and enthusiasm for learning.
They are creative little people full of wonder and endless possibilities.
My students qualify for GSRP Preschool, because of their parents income is low to extremely low based on federal poverty guidelines and other risk factors. I am normally their first teacher outside of their parents. Our school is a priority school in the inner-city which means our test scores are in the bottom 5 percent in our State.
My Project
We need a four person easel to accommodate more students during work time in the art area. We have a low supply of paint because my students use paint everyday in some fashion. The art area is one of the most popular areas in our classroom.
Foam paint will help our students with their sensory, tactile, and fine motor skills.
Students will be able to explore creating pictures, letters, names, and numbers with paint. My students paintings are always a topic of discussion within the school when I display them. The abstract thinking of my students when they paint is very detailed and colorful when asked to describe their work.
