This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have amazing imagination and are great artists as a result. I believe our demographic makes us special. I work at a Title Ischool with 100% free and reduced lunch. Most of our students are considered to be underrepresented and/or come from low-income households. These are the students who most need the support a strong arts curriculum can provide. Yuma County borders California, Arizona and Mexico. Their creativity can be seen in the Art that is often displayed at the Yuma County Fair, the Children's Festival of the Arts as well as other local, state, national and international contests and events. The last time we purchased frames was over 13 years ago and some need replacing. I love showing student work and it is best shown in quality mats and frames. I try and write grants to keep supplies on hand for this purpose. I would appreciate your support in purchasing more frames for our program use. I can provide pictures of work shown from previous events or upcoming events if needed. Thank you for your consideration and support!
