I teach first grade in a Title 1, low-income school. We have a very diverse student population coming from all parts of the globe. Many of my students are English Language learners.

We have difficulty accessing enough supplies to create the art we'd like to be doing. The watercolor paints I have are out of many colors, and this limits my students' ability to express themselves. It is frustrating for many students to have to share a box of paint.

We have a local art show for elementary students each year in our community. I have enjoyed submitting my students' artwork to this show in the past, and have had two students be accepted to display their artwork. They were very proud. I am asking for watercolor paints, brushes, paper and crayons so that we can create mixed-media projects.

Please help my students begin to explore what I hope will be a lifelong interest in art. I had an amazing art teacher in elementary school, and he changed my life. I hope to instill similar creative satisfaction in my students.
