I work with students at two different school sites within our magnificently diverse city. The schools are filled with eager learners wanting to explore all aspects of the STEAM curriculum. My students come from a wide variety of ethnic, cultural, language and economic backgrounds. The majority of the students I teach are face with challenges of being raised in socioeconomically disadvantaged environment. A third of the students I work with are English Language Learners, often new to American schools.
Using the universal language of Art to express themselves, my students will began their successful academic lives with confidence.
With your help my students will acquire the skills not only of creating artistic works but the art of self expression, divergent thinking as well as problem solving skills. Given the tools to problem solve, represent their thinking through multiple pathways they will build a strong foundation for life long learning and success.
My Project
My students are facing an ever changing world where thinking outside the box and creativity are essential. Some of the best ideas begin as a sketch. Having access to quality supplies, opportunities to record, develop and expand on ideas and concepts in Math and Science begin in the Art Classroom.
Launch my students into new areas of exploration, expression and creative with quality paper and pens.
The simple essentials of quality drawing paper and well made pens to begin their journey are key....The also are used in so many different ways! Help provide my students with the foundation to a strong STEAM future as I guide them through the year with Art at the Heart of their STEAM learning.
