My students need different ways to be creative, painting a flower they saw outside, using play dough to sculpt a bird or using stamps to help count insects they gathered. Art is a window to learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students really need art supplies. Children that can be creative and explore with various art supplies. The children can paint a fishing boat we just read about, stamping letters or numbers with ink to make a word they saw in a book, rolling out a worm they saw on the playground with play dough, and water paint a flower they saw when they walked to school that morning. My students will be able to interpret the world around them though art, even if they don't have the words to express it. We know that our students today will be our leaders tomorrow. 100 percent of the students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch throughout the school year as well as during the summer months. My students come from low-economic families and many live with extended families.
My school has been in this neighborhood for over 50 years.
Generations have attended this school. They are very proud and love to learn.
My Project
My students need to be able to examine, explore, and create what they see in their world and have a place to put their art work on to dry on the drying rack. With art they can express what they see even if they don’t have the words to say it. They can use paint and paint the colors of a butterfly that we read about. They can use play dough to sculpt apples we are studying about and they can use water color paints to paint a tree they saw walking to school that day. They will learn that they can be creative by using stamping ink to stamp their name and items they think about and use form finger paint to explore color. Art is a exciting way for students to learn about their world. Please help to bring meaningful art to the lives of my students.
