I work at a high-poverty school, but that does not stop my students from being excited to learn each day they come into my classroom. I have the entire school for art which includes pre-school- 6th grade. It is hard to keep classroom materials in stock.
My students are eager to start any project especially painting.
When they come into my classroom they expect to learn, grow, and most importantly feel loved and appreciated. Thank you so much for supporting my students!
My Project
My students will be working on different landscapes and spring paintings. The lessons include learning how to depict perspective and value in a landscape drawing. The students can select an imaginary landscape, an image from a recycled calendar or from their environment.
Students will be scored on their ability to depict foreground, middle ground, and background.
They will also be graded on their effort, attitude and craftsmanship. Some of my students’ best works will be matted and hung up nicely in my classroom.
Having a meeting space in my room with a comfortable rug for my class to sit on will be such a great way to share ideas and have group discussions especially with my pre-k -2nd grades. I want my classroom to be warm and welcoming and this will make a great addition. We will be able to sit and have art critiques and discuss current and upcoming work.
