This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a lively and creative bunch who are always ready for the next project! “What are we doing today?” “Can we make a sculpture to go along with Pete the Cat!”

These students are developing creativity through the books we read and our inspiring book discussions.

We were reading a book about a little girl who had trouble making friends. This “book talk” inspired us to make a friendship rock, a small painted rock with a kind message - something a friend to hold when the going gets tough.

My students are developing kindness and empathy through literacy and art activities. These projects using the dough tools and dough tubs promote sharing and discourse.
