Our students deserve quality art experiences as part of their education! Participating in art improves motor skills, decision making, cultural awareness, and creativity. It provides an opportunity for students to develop visual skills and express themselves. Many studies report that art experiences develop skills that also lead to increased academic achievement. Thankfully, small schools without an art teacher can still provide valuable experiences to students through the use of video art lessons created by talented art teachers. This project will provide the materials needed for students to participate in this type of art instruction.
Our students will be able to participate in a variety of creative art projects using these watercolors, oil pastels, and paints. Without having a certified art teacher in our school, many "art" projects have become color, cut and paste activities. With these new art materials available, students will be able to learn actual art techniques taught through lessons created by art teachers.
Not only will students be able to expand their creativity, but they also will develop important skills such as collaboration and decision making while learning different art techniques.
Students will enjoy art once again using these new materials!
