Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are mostly immigrants with limited resources and high poverty family backgrounds. My goal is to give them a hands-on art experience. Art through education is my goal. My students enjoy art while learning history, geography, science, and also reading. Art is a bridge to learning. My Students really look forward to my program because art has no language; it's an individual expression. I connect art with math, language arts and science. This is hands-on learning at its best.

My Project

At the end of the year the Art Department at my school shows off the students work. This helps raise the students self esteem. The school sends a letter home to the parents inviting them to this event. It is very exciting for students and parents. The whole district participates. This allows the students to compare their skills with other students their age.

This is a wonderful school event that the students look forward to all year.

Unfortunately we never seem to have enough money to purchase addaquate frames. This would really help me to create a wonderful presentation for the students.
