My students are such a good example of how working together and building a classroom community can make a school year fly by! Despite multiple staff changes, my students have learned so much and have become such caring and hard working little learners. Most of my students come from the same apartment complex for low-income families, and they spend a lot of time together in and out of school. They really enjoy anything that is creative such as art and music. They often come from great, hardworking families who just don't have the resources to meet basic needs.
My Project
My students do free art in the classroom everyday! They love to paint so the brushes and finger paint will keep them busy and we can use their artwork to decorate the classroom. They each have a space for their art in the room so the markers will enable them to draw pictures to take home or display. The apron and splash mat will help keep the classroom clean and manageable while they have fun creating. Consumable art supplies are used up so quickly, it would be great to have supplies to start the school year and it would be one less thing to worry about purchasing!
