I have an awesome group of second grade students who are always looking for new materials and resources. They have the ability to grow so quickly and love to read, read, read!
They are the future of our community and will help spread their love for learning.
They are full of questions, but are just as full of answers! They enjoy coming to school everyday with smiles on their faces from ear to ear.
Each of my students come from varied backgrounds which make for an eclectic class and group conversations.
Art allows students to express their individuality. It levels the playing field for students who may struggle with reading and writing. It turns what may be intimidating math into something fun and accessible. It builds confidence and a feeling of success.
I see my students as readers, mathematicians, scientists, historians, explorers, and-- tying these all together-- artists.
As such, I am always looking for fresh opportunities to extend my students' learning and expression through art and need fresh art supplies to make these lessons possible.
By supporting this project, you will be providing my students with art supplies to explore collage along with the works author/artists like Eric Carle, create collaborative murals during our Women's History Month unit of study, and try out watercolor techniques during our life science studies.
