This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students truly enjoy their time in music class. Each and every one of my third through fifth graders light up my day! They love to come to music class and get involved with singing and dancing. They can take a musical concept and really grow with it. My students are budding musicians! I can't wait to see them every day because I never know what song they have to sing for me, or what instrument they might walk in with.
We receive Title I funds for our students because two out of three of them are economically disadvantaged.
This doesn't stop them from thinking outside the box and using their creativity whenever possible!
My Project
The students need these requested glazes, clay, design wood blocks, clean up tools, and Star Stilts to help bring their academics to life.
My students use clay projects to learn about the bones in the body.
They also use them to research fossils. When the kiln is not being used for academic purposes, many of our classes are busy making ceramic items that go toward a service learning project. They use ornaments, figurines and other objects that have been handmade to raise money for students in our community that are in need.
The ceramic area is a huge part of our day to day school life and we are desperately in need supplies!
