My students are eager to be the best artists they can be. They aspire to be creative and expressive artists in order to communicate their stories to the world. My curriculum covers the traditional art skills, creative/critical thinking, and art criticism, but we lack the resources to move students on to the next level of artistic challenges. This is something very important for 21st century students.
Our student body is made up of students throughout the city who need an alternative setting for learning.
My school site is small compared to our comprehensive sites. We provide alternative education.
Often our students are misunderstood, misguided, or lost. Every year, we graduate countless students who have changed as individuals, inspiring us to continue our efforts to educate others.
Students will utilize the light box for challenging projects that may require multiple drawings of the same subjects. Light boxes are used by many artists. They can aid an artist in completing intricate drawings or help when a student needs to redraw a subject multiple times.
With the easel, I will be able to provide flexible seating for students.
This easel will help provide adequate tools for students who want to challenge themselves to complete a large painting.
I am requesting enough mini canvas panels for all my students to explore acrylic paints while completing an original design. This will boost student confidence in order to provide them with bigger artistic challenges.
