My Students

Most of my students are from low-income households, yet despite this obstacle, they remain eager learners wanting to absorb as much as they can from their surroundings. As a teacher, I want to create an enriched environment that provides them with a wide range of complementing opportunities.

My students eagerly look forward to working with different hands-on activities, using manipulatives, creating crafts, communicating and collaborating with their peers.

They are a smart group of students who look forward to school each day.

My Project

I am requesting art supplies such as oil pastels and canvas for my students to use during their Friday fun period. After a week long learning its time to showcase their creativity through art projects.

Its time for them to express themselves, to give free reign to the artist within oneself.

Unfortunately our school does not have an art teacher to guide our students. We have to make sure that visual arts standards are given the same importance as any other subject's standards. Having a range of supplies and mediums help students think out of the box, to think critically, and relive stress by expressing themselves.
