This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are an urban charter school serving approximately 330 students. Our school serves students from Pre-K to fifth grade. Our students come from a neighborhood with a high crime rate and poverty. However, our positive and loving students come to school every day ready to learn and explore their imaginations.
Students come to Art class to unwind and explore their creative side.
They are eager to express themselves through various mediums and learn more about what art means to society and to themselves.
My Project
The Art Ed Now conference is an online art educators conference attended by thousands of art teachers from around the world. There are over 20 presentations by renowned artists and authors on various topics such as painting, portraiture, differentiation, creativity, ceramics, classroom management, organization, technology, assessment, and STEAM. Attendees can watch live online or view presentations any time on demand.
In addition to useful information from conference presenters, downloads, handouts, and art materials are provided to attendees.
This information will greatly help in my teaching, as I network with fellow art teachers and learn about new ways to help my students in class.
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
As a teacher-founded nonprofit, we're trusted by thousands of teachers and supporters across the country. This classroom request for funding was created by Ms. Lofgren and reviewed by the DonorsChoose team.
