This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students need materials to construct precise models.

My students are Gifted/HA 4th graders who have a lot of ideas but are not precise in their measurements and completion of design.

They are very frustrated when their products do not look the way they want them to in their mind's eye. Therefore, they need someone to teach them some simple drafting strategies to make their creations precise and detailed.

My Project

My students will use these materials to create fine detailed products. Their designs will come to life by using engineering principals to create 2 dimensional images. They will then use the materials to create precise images used for drafting their products. T-squares, acetate and gouache are artists materials used in archetectual design work. Therefore, my students will use these materials to slow down their projects and create more accurate precise images.

My students get very angry with themselves when their models fall apart.

The problem they are having is the fact that their measurements are off and their designs do not have depth.
