Art Bots, Conductive Creatures, 3D Doodles, Oh My!

My students need the opportunity to experience different types of technology and have fun experiences as they do! With these supplies we will be making Art Bots, Conductive Creatures, and 3D doodles!

My Students

At our school we have around 200 students in grades K-5, with 70% qualifying for free or reduced lunches. We have a diverse group of students with a variety of learning styles, abilities, needs, and socio-economic backgrounds.

We are always looking for ways to get students to be engaged and creative!

Unfortunately with state wide budget cuts, our supplies are limited, which also limits their creativity, and exposure to new mediums.

Besides helping with fine motor skills, what students learn in art spill over into other subjects. Patterns and colors help in Math. Cross Categorical help with deeper thinking is Social Studies. STEAM projects combine science and art. So Art is a WIN for everyone!

My Project

How exciting would it be to come to Art and experience new types of technology, that you wouldn't normally see in a small, rural school? My goal with this funding is to do just that. The students will create Art Bots out of recycled materials. Use conductive clay to make Conductive Creatures and learn more about Electricity. They will also get to use exciting new 3D technology to make their artwork come to life! The best part is the materials are reusable for years to come! This is a great opportunity to create a bridge between Science, Technology, and Art! My hopes is with your help we can make that happen!
