Art at our Fingertips!
My students need 18 art resource books, from "Dynamic Light and Shading" to "Amazing Origami".
My middle school art class is often my students' first experience in an art classroom, as Boston Public has cut visual arts from the curriculum. However, my students have incredibly open and curious minds! Our public charter school brings together the best of the east and the west: high expectations along with a focus on the individual student. Art is seen as an essential component to a well-rounded citizen.
While my students' lack of exposure to art can manifest itself as a freshness of mind, it can also lead to a lack of confidence or disengagement. I must combat this will RELEVANT art exposure!
In order to bridge the knowledge gap, I have compiled an inspiring and extensive collection of art books to supplement our small classroom library. A multicultural range of artists have been selected, from various ethnicities, nationalities, genders, art movements, and eras.
Your help will give my students the much needed privilege of art exposure. Many of my students love art and the creativity and expression it allows. Help to inspire them further! Thank you!
