My students are a diverse community of learners that are learning to collaborate as artists in an urban environment. We are fortunate to be in a school that supports the arts as part of a balanced curriculum. However, many of my students come from low income families and purchasing art supplies for students may not be their highest priority.
With the switch to distance learning, my students are now faced with new challenges such as lack of access to devices, Internet, and materials.
Our city has been hard hit by the virus and many of my students are looking for ways to keep busy that are not strictly academic.
My goal with distance learning projects is to not only get necessary supplies to my kids but to even the playing field.
Help me send my students care packages filled with art supplies and joy. These are supplies that my students will use to create art at home. Many students in my district do not have access to art supplies during this time.
Without knowing the extent of how long we will be learning from home, many of my students could benefit from receiving these art supplies.
For them, these items will not only allow them to create art at home but brighten their day during these uncertain times. Please help me give my student a little bit of joy and add a little sunshine to their day.
