Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are high school students currently taking advanced courses such as Dual Credit and AP courses. These students are very hard working and motivated to succeed. This is the reason for why they signed themselves up for the challenge of college courses early on. They come from all different backgrounds and offer each other great support and inspiration to earn their full associates degree by the time they are seniors in high school. These students do not have to pay any tuition or textbook fees in order to receive their courses. We sponsor every single student who wishes to embark on their way to great academic achievement. They in turn are very engaged in our school by setting the example for many younger students. They are our school ambassadors, and they volunteer their time for school events and projects. A lot of these students have jobs and responsibilities at home, and yet they keep up with their grades and the pace of college courses. They truly are my motivation, every single day. I love working with them!
My Project
My dual credit students take a course called ART 1301 from a local college, they are very excited about the lessons and projects they have been able to make. One thing that prevents students from engaging fully in an art project is the inability to draw. Having an iPad for digital animations, tutorials, and practice will be very beneficial not to mention accommodating to different learning styles.
The art projector is another way to accommodate and facilitate the drawing process as students can use it to trace and line amazing pictures and panoramas it is an especially great tool because its function is so multifaceted.
The goal is to allow them the materials to bring forth those talents that need polishing. The more resources we are able to have in order to help students improve could lead into them entering their work for our talent competitions here at school.
I have my own website to manage all my students. Without electronics it is hard for them to easily access the tools necessary for class. Having an iPad for easy and convenient internet access will simply open the door for innovation.
